Job Description
We are seeking friendly and efficient Stewards to join our team. As a Steward, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional customer service and ensuring an enjoyable dining experience for our guests. You will be responsible for taking orders, serving food and beverages, and maintaining a clean and organised dining area.
The candidate must note that this position requires excellent communication skills in both Hindi and in English, a strong attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Steward, you will…
– Greet guests warmly and create a welcoming atmosphere in the café.
– Present menus and provide detailed information on food and beverage options.
– Monitor tables and take accurate food and drink orders from customers.
– Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to ensure prompt and accurate preparation of orders.
– Serve food and beverages to guests in a timely and efficient manner.
– Anticipate guest needs, providing recommendations and answering queries they may have.
– Maintain knowledge of the dishes on the menu, specials and menu changes along with allergens and possible dietary restrictions.
– Ensure proper table setup, including tableware, utensils and condiments.
– Clear and clean tables promptly after guests finish their meals.
– Process guest payments and transactions accurately.
– Collaborate with others on the team to maintain smooth operation.
– Follow all health and safety guidelines, including proper food handling and sanitation procedures.
The Candidate Must Possess…
– Previous experience as a server or in a customer service role.
– Strong interpersonal and communication skills in both Hindi and in English, to effectively interact with guests and team members along with the ability to handle difficult situations gracefully.
– Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive and professional attitude.
– Excellent multi-tasking and organisational skills, with attention to detail.
– Flexibility to work shifts including weekends and holidays, as required.
– Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and carry trays of food and beverages.
– Familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems.
