Bakery and Dessert Kitchen

Location: Chembur, Mumbai

Position Overview:
We are seeking a talented and experienced Sous Chef to lead our bakery and dessert kitchen team. The Sous Chef will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the bakery and dessert kitchen operations, including menu development, recipe creation, food production, staff management, and ensuring the highest standards of quality and consistency.

Key Responsibilities:

Menu Development and Recipe Creation:
Develop innovative and enticing bakery and dessert menus that align with our brand and customer preferences.
Create and refine recipes for a variety of baked goods, pastries, cakes, and desserts, ensuring exceptional taste, texture, and presentation.
Food Production and Quality Control:
Oversee the daily production of baked goods and desserts, ensuring adherence to recipes, portion sizes, and quality standards.
Monitor food preparation processes to maintain freshness, consistency, and cleanliness at all times.
Implement quality control measures to uphold the highest standards of food safety and hygiene.
Staff Management and Training:
Lead and mentor the bakery and dessert kitchen team, providing guidance, feedback, and support to ensure optimal performance and development.
Conduct regular training sessions to enhance culinary skills, product knowledge, and teamwork among staff members.
Schedule and manage staff assignments effectively to meet production demands and maintain a positive working environment.
Inventory Management and Cost Control:
Manage inventory levels for bakery and dessert ingredients, supplies, and equipment, optimizing purchasing decisions and minimizing waste.
Implement cost-effective strategies to maximize profitability while maintaining high-quality standards.
Monitor food costs, production yields, and portion control to achieve budgetary goals and financial targets.
Menu Innovation and Trends Awareness:
Stay updated on industry trends, emerging ingredients, and culinary techniques relevant to bakery and dessert offerings.
Continuously explore new flavors, ingredients, and presentation styles to keep the menu fresh, exciting, and competitive in the market.
Qualifications and Requirements:

Proven experience as a Sous Chef, Pastry Chef, or similar role in a bakery or dessert kitchen environment.
Extensive knowledge of bakery and pastry techniques, ingredients, and production methods.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire, motivate, and empower team members.
Excellent organizational and time-management abilities to handle multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
Attention to detail and a passion for culinary excellence, creativity, and innovation.
Certification or degree in Culinary Arts, Baking & Pastry, or a related field is preferred.
Food safety and sanitation certification is required.
