Job Description

As a Commis 1 in our restaurant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our kitchen operations. You will be responsible for assisting in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of dishes, ensuring that our guests receive exceptional dining experiences. Under the supervision of the Head Chef or Sous Chef, you will contribute to maintaining the high standards of quality and taste that our restaurant prides itself on.

Responsibilities:
● Food Preparation: Assist in the preparation of continental dishes according to the recipes and guidelines provided by the Head Chef. This includes cutting, chopping, marinating, and other basic preparation tasks.
● Cooking: Execute cooking tasks, including grilling, sautéing, frying, baking, and boiling, to achieve the desired taste and presentation of continental dishes.
● Plating and Presentation: Assist in the artistic and attractive presentation of dishes to enhance their visual appeal and ensure they are served at the appropriate temperature.
● Quality Control: Ensure that all continental dishes are prepared and cooked to the highest quality standards, adhering to the restaurant’s specifications and maintaining consistency.
● Kitchen Cleanliness: Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen area, including workstations, equipment, and utensils. Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
● Ingredient Management: Assist in monitoring stock levels of continental ingredients and inform the Head Chef or Sous Chef when supplies need to be replenished.
● Collaboration: Work closely with other members of the kitchen team, including other Commis chefs, to ensure smooth and efficient kitchen operations.
● Menu Development: Contribute ideas for new continental dishes and participate in menu development discussions, sharing insights and creativity.
● Continuous Learning: Stay updated on current trends, techniques, and best practices related to continental cuisine, attending training sessions or workshops if required.
