Position Overview:
The Assistant Restaurant Manager plays a critical role in supporting the Restaurant Manager in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the restaurant. This role involves ensuring excellent service delivery, supporting staff management, and contributing to the overall success of the restaurant. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who is dedicated to guest satisfaction, operational efficiency, and team development.
Key Responsibilities:
• Operational Support:
o Assist the Restaurant Manager in overseeing all aspects of daily restaurant operations, ensuring smooth and efficient service.
o Monitor the restaurant floor during service to ensure that all guests receive prompt and attentive service.
o Assist in managing inventory, placing orders, and controlling stock levels to meet demand while minimizing waste.
o Ensure that the restaurant is clean, organized, and well-maintained at all times.
• Guest Experience:
o Foster a welcoming and friendly environment for guests, addressing any inquiries or concerns with professionalism and care.
o Handle guest complaints and feedback, working to resolve issues promptly and to the satisfaction of the guest.
o Assist in implementing service standards and training staff to deliver exceptional guest experiences.
• Team Management:
o Support the recruitment, training, and development of front-of-house staff, ensuring they are knowledgeable and motivated.
o Assist in scheduling staff shifts, ensuring adequate coverage during peak times while managing labor costs.
o Lead by example, setting a positive tone and work ethic for the team.
o Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide ongoing feedback and coaching to staff.
• Financial Management:
o Assist the Restaurant Manager in monitoring revenue, expenses, and labor costs, helping to meet financial targets.
o Analyze sales data and customer feedback to identify opportunities for improvement and implement action plans.
o Participate in budgeting and forecasting activities, providing insights and recommendations to senior management.
• Compliance & Safety:
o Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation regulations, including food safety standards.
o Conduct regular inspections of the restaurant to ensure adherence to operational and safety standards.
o Stay informed about industry trends and regulatory changes, assisting in implementing necessary adjustments.
Qualifications:
• Proven experience in a supervisory or assistant management role within the restaurant industry, preferably in a fast-casual or health-focused setting.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team.
• Excellent customer service skills, with a focus on creating memorable dining experiences.
• Knowledge of restaurant operations, including inventory management, scheduling, and financial reporting.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure.
