Job Description

As a Restaurant Captain you will be responsible for ensuring smooth operations and providing exceptional guest experiences. As the Captain, you will oversee the front-of-house staff and work closely with the restaurant manager to maintain high standards of service, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities: Leadership and Supervision:

● Lead and motivate the front-of-house team, including servers, hosts/hostesses, and other support staff.
● Assign duties and responsibilities to team members, ensuring effective coordination and efficient workflow.
● Provide training, guidance, and ongoing support to new and existing staff members.
● Foster a positive work environment that promotes teamwork, professionalism, and excellent
customer service.

Guest Service:
● Greet and interact with guests in a friendly and professional manner, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere.
● Oversee the seating of guests, managing reservations, and maintaining accurate records.
● Handle guest inquiries, complaints, and special requests promptly and effectively.
● Monitor guest satisfaction levels and address any issues or concerns to ensure a positive dining
experience.

Operations Management:
● Ensure smooth operations during peak hours, coordinating seating, table turnover, and waitlist management.
● Monitor dining areas, ensuring cleanliness, organization, and compliance with health and safety regulations.
● Collaborate with the kitchen staff to ensure timely and accurate delivery of food and beverages.
● Manage inventory of dining supplies, such as cutlery, linens, and condiments, and place orders as
needed.

Sales and Revenue:
● Promote and up-sell menu items, beverages, and special promotions to enhance sales and revenue.
● Monitor sales performance and identify opportunities to increase profitability.
● Collaborate with the restaurant manager to develop strategies for attracting and retaining
customers.
● Assist in implementing marketing initiatives, including social media campaigns and special
events.

Training and Development:
● Conduct regular training sessions for front-of-house staff to enhance their skills and knowledge.
● Stay updated on industry trends, new menu items, and customer preferences.
● Provide coaching and feedback to team members, recognizing outstanding performance and
addressing areas for improvement.
