Key Responsibilities:
Menu Development:
Lead monthly Research and Development (R&D) sessions to create new and innovative dishes, ensuring a dynamic and exciting menu for our patrons.
Craft meal combinations that offer a diverse range of flavors and cater to various preferences.
Culinary Expertise:
Exhibit mastery in preparing Italian and Continental cuisine, showcasing a deep understanding of traditional techniques and modern culinary trends.
Skillfully create a wide array of dishes, from delicate pastas to succulent roasts, reflecting a high level of creativity and expertise.
Coffee Artistry:
Oversee the coffee preparation process, ensuring that every cup meets our exacting standards of taste, aroma, and presentation.
Collaborate with the barista team to maintain consistency in coffee quality and develop new coffee-based offerings.
Inventory Management:
Monitor and manage kitchen inventory, optimizing ingredient usage and minimizing wastage while maintaining par levels for smooth operations.
Liaise with suppliers to ensure timely and accurate deliveries of fresh and high-quality produce.
Quality Assurance:
Conduct regular quality checks on ingredients, finished dishes, and overall kitchen operations to uphold the highest standards of taste, presentation, and safety.
Implement and enforce strict hygiene practices to maintain a clean and sanitized kitchen environment.
Team Leadership:
Provide guidance and mentorship to kitchen staff, fostering a culture of teamwork, discipline, and continuous learning.
Coordinate with sous chefs, line cooks, and kitchen assistants to ensure seamless workflow and efficient service.
Menu Costing and Pricing:
Collaborate with the management team to determine menu prices based on ingredient costs, ensuring profitability without compromising quality.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a Head Chef specializing in Italian and Continental cuisine.
In-depth knowledge of culinary techniques, ingredients, and flavor profiles specific to Italian and Continental cooking.
Proficiency in coffee preparation and an understanding of various coffee brewing methods.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a kitchen team.
Excellent organizational and communication skills.
