Paris Society Breathes New Life into Hôtel Salomon de Rothschild with the Opening of Baronne Restaurant

Paris, September 2024 – After a remarkable year revitalizing iconic Parisian venues like Laurent, Maxim’s, and L’Abbaye des Vaux-de-Cernay, Laurent de Gourcuff, in collaboration with Viparis, unveils Baronne, a stunning new restaurant located within the historic Hôtel Salomon de Rothschild. This exclusive venue offers a blend of restaurant, bar, and event spaces, poised to become the sensation of the season.

A Historic Masterpiece Revitalized

Situated behind the grand gates of 11 Rue Berryer in the 8th arrondissement, the Hôtel Salomon de Rothschild is a neoclassical gem, now rejuvenated by Corinne Sachot’s visionary design. The mansion’s rich history and character are beautifully woven into a sumptuous décor that merges the elegance of the past with contemporary style. Velvet banquettes, solid wood tables, and gilded Flanders leather bring a sense of opulence, while period chandeliers softly illuminate the space, enhancing the intimate and refined ambiance.

A Love Story Embodied in Architecture

The history of Hôtel Salomon de Rothschild is rooted in love and legacy. Salomon and Adèle de Rothschild, married in 1862, shared a brief but passionate bond. Following Salomon’s untimely death, Adèle built this majestic mansion in his memory, on the grounds where the famed writer Balzac once lived. The architectural project, initially overseen by Léon Ohnet and completed by his pupil Justin Ponsard, spanned from 1874 to 1878. Today, the hotel’s Neo-Renaissance façade, adorned with intricate sculptures and wrought-iron balconies, serves as a testament to its historical grandeur. The interior, with its expansive salons and frescoed walls, continues to captivate visitors.

A Culinary Journey of French Excellence

At Baronne, French gastronomy takes center stage. The restaurant’s refined menu, curated with a focus on tradition and innovation, celebrates the finest meats, whole fish, and a vibrant variety of vegetables. Prepared with expert grilling techniques, each dish is enhanced by the flavors of herbs and spices, offering an unparalleled dining experience. Paired with a selection of Grands Crus and signature cocktails, the culinary offerings are designed to delight even the most discerning palate.

The Terrace: A Parisian Haven

In the warmer months, Baronne’s outdoor terrace will offer a serene escape in the heart of Paris. Nestled within the lush gardens of the Hôtel Salomon de Rothschild, this hidden gem will provide a tranquil setting for enjoying exquisite cuisine in an intimate, open-air atmosphere.

Baronne promises to be more than just a dining destination—it is a celebration of Parisian art de vivre, where history, architecture, and gastronomy converge to create an unforgettable experience.
