London – Renato ‘Tato’ Giovannoni, one of the world’s most celebrated and award-winning bartenders, is set to bring a taste of Argentina to London this September with an exclusive pop-up at The Emory Rooftop Bar in Knightsbridge. As the founder of Buenos Aires’ famed Florería Atlántico, and winner of the World’s 50 Best Bar’s Industry Icon Award, Tato will transform The Emory Rooftop into a cocktail destination like no other. Typically only accessible to hotel guests, the bar will open to outside reservations during his residency.
Running from Friday, 6th September to Tuesday, 5th November, this unique pop-up offers guests the chance to experience Tato’s renowned cocktails with breathtaking 360-degree views of London’s skyline at one of the city’s best-kept secrets. The cocktail menu, inspired by Tato’s childhood in Buenos Aires and his travels, is titled ‘El Mar de Tato,’ paying homage to the sea and its influence on his creations.
Signature Cocktails and Flavors
The exclusive menu features signature drinks such as the Negroni Balestrini, made with Tato’s own Principe de los Apostoles gin, the first high-end gin distilled in Argentina. Guests can also enjoy an ever-changing ‘Bloody Mary of the Week,’ with intriguing ingredients like cacao, red wine, and mango. For a nostalgic taste of Buenos Aires, the Garua Martini will take you back to Tato’s roots.
A trio of Argentinian snacks, including King Crab and Prawn Empanadas with lime, will be served nightly to enhance the cocktail experience.
Argentinian Ambiance
Joining Tato at The Emory Rooftop Bar is his long-time friend and partner, Alex Resnik, adding an authentic Argentinian touch. Guests will enjoy a curated Argentinian playlist featuring tango tracks, hand-drawn sea creature tattoos by Tato, and vibrant floral displays reminiscent of Florería Atlántico.
Tato’s London Connection
Tato expressed his excitement about the pop-up, stating, “London has always had a special place in my heart since I came to study here over 30 years ago. I’ve even named one of my favorite cocktails Mary Poppins Barley Water as a tribute to my childhood memories of the city. I can’t wait to be back and share cocktails with my London bartender friends.”
